Changes of Clothes
Get-home bag
Purpose: Sustain you in a short-term emergency
Stuck on the interstate
Snowed in or iced in away from home
Help you get home in case we cannot travel by normal means
Suggested GHB Contents:
Water
(2) bottles of water
Personal water filter
Sawyer mini screws on a water bottle
Food - non-perishable
Energy bars
Nuts
Jerky
Dried fruit
Dried soup mix
Freeze dried food
First-aid kit
Band aids, bandages, antiseptic, pain reliever, imodium, prescription meds
Fire-starting
Tinder, Lighters, Waterproof matches, Ferro Rod & striker
Fatwood, commercial, cotton balls & petroleum jelly
Personal hygiene kit
TP, wet wipes, hand sanitizer
Gear:
Flashlight & extra batteries
Knife/multi tool
Emergency blanket
Possibly a sleeping bag in the car
Rain gear
Light tarp - 8x10, cheap, blue
Cordage
Compass & map
Single wall water bottle or small pot or pan
Change of clothes, seasonably appropriate
Extra socks
Walking shoes - especially the ladies
Cash in small denominations
Bug-out bag - (Evacuation bag) (Hospital bag)
Purpose: Provides you items necessary in case you have to leave your house suddenly and for a few days.
Evacuation to a hotel
Hospital w/ family member, or yourself
Suggested BOB Contents:
Change of clothes
Socks & shoes
Cell phone chargers & cords
Extension cord
Flashlight & extra batteries
Pen & paper
Snacks
Cash - small bills & Change
Small blanket/throw for hosp waiting rooms
INCH bag
“I'm never coming home again bag"
“Go live in the woods bag”
Requires ALL of the previous items and a whole lot more
There is not a bag big enough for bugging-out with no prospect of ever coming home!
We must pre-plan at the location where we will be going.
Here are some options:
Buried caches, and marking the locations.
Filling a truck bed, or a trailer, taking your stores with you.
