In the midst of all that you're doing as a prepper, did you know there are some things you shouldn't do?
The "shouldn't-do" list is extensive, but for today's episode, we will be talking about ten things a prepper should not do.
We found dozens of internet links on what NOT to do, mostly with sound advice overall, but some conflicting information, such as "always use cash" vs "never use cash", or "buy gear first" vs "buy gear last".
Here’s ten things preppers should NOT do:
Do not procrastinate about getting started prepping.
Excuses:
*There's always "tomorrow"
*Too expensive
*Don't know how to start
Do not store all your preps in one location
Excuses:
*More convenient
*I'm always at home
*Trying to hide my supplies
Do not keep it a secret from trusted folks
Excuses:
*I trust nobody
*I can make it alone
*I will not share with anyone
Do not avoiding training
Particularly medical or firearms
Excuses:
*I can read a book about it
*I'll rely on others
*Just having the gear is enough
Do not focus only on Doomsday scenarios
Excuses:
*End of the world is coming any minute now
*Ordinary threats not "serious"
*Must rebuild society
Do not fail to have your Emergency Plan in writing
Excuses:
*No way to predict disasters
*The government will supply my needs
*I'll know exactly what to do
Do not fail to store enough water
Excuses:
*Utilities always work
*I can buy water anytime
*Boiling it is enough
Do not go into debt buying gear and supplies
Excuses:
*Frightened into it
*Keeping up with gear heads
*False sense of security
Do not fail to rotate consumables into use
Excuses:
*Preps are "untouchable"
*Maintains "large" inventory
*Foods last forever, right?
Do not lose hope, give up, or quit
Excuses:
*Disasters "never" happen
*No support from family
*Considered a "hoarder"
We addressed that in episode 401
